BIBI'Z RESTAURANT / LOUNGE

(LOGO PROVIDED VIA GOOGLE)

Ever since moving to Westwood back in 2013, my wife and I have been casual diners with Bibi'z both before and after our daughter was born. We have enjoyed their great hospitality and delicious food ever since and they have always been accommodating with my daughter and our needs which always makes me very happy. Today we decided to go to Bibi'z for brunch and I had the intention of writing a review. I made sure to have an unbiased and fresh perspective in order to get pure reaction to the experience that they provided.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

At first glances, Bibi'z has a great look to it. The decor and ambiance is beautiful and welcoming as you feel very comfortable while dining with them. During the warmer months, they provide outdoor seating which is always our preferred choice due to the nice light breezes that help to elevate our meal and increase our comfort. If there is a slight chill in the air, Bibi'z has outdoor heaters that keep their guests warm enough to enjoy themselves. Sometimes people wonder if they will be forgotten when sitting outside, don't worry about that because they have a great sense of urgency and seem to always keep the guests need in mind.

THE FOOD

My wife ordered a Peach Bellini (not pictured) which she loved so much that she ordered a second one. I started off with a cappuccino, which as you can see pictured above was unlike any cappuccino I ever had. It was served with sides of shaved dark chocolate, fresh whipped cream and blocks of both raw and white sugar. The presentation was quite incredible and I made sure to make use of all three accompaniments.

I started off the the Shucked Oysters. This is another item that I like to order if I see it on a menu. I love oysters. They looked fresh and tasted like they were right out of the ocean. They are served over ice with cocktail sauce, lemon and a champagne mignonette. The champagne mignonette was a combination of champagne, vinegar, shallot, pepper and sugar. The mixture is nice combination. All three items compliment the oysters quite well, but I am more of a sucker for cocktail sauce.

Next I enjoyed the steamed mussels. They are served with sojuk, white wine and cilantro. The mussels were cooked perfectly and the broth made me wish that the dish was served with pasta. They gave me three slices of bread for dipping, but I quickly needed more.

My wife had the Harvest Salad which featured a pecan-raisin crostini, fresh fruit, roasted nuts in a champagne vinaigrette with a wedge of brie. She enjoyed the salad greatly and loved the brie. She also ordered an omelet, but was full after the salad. We had it packed up to go. Sadly we were not able to get a picture of it as it did look fantastic.

SERVICE

Our server was Larysa and she provided us with outstanding service. This was the first time we had met Larysa and she treated us like old friends from when we sat down. She was there when we needed her but never overwhelming us as most places mistakenly have their servers do. She gave us our time together as a family to enjoy ourselves and we were more happy for it. Everyone else who worked there greeted us with a friendly hello as we walked by them on our way to our table. The entire staff made us feel welcome and like we had known them forever.

LASTING IMPRESSIONS

I am going to give Bibi'z a 4 out of 5 stars. They were extremely accommodating from the moment that we walked into the front door until the moment that we left. They gave us a great family experience. Could they get the 5th star one day, I believe so. Why did they miss it? I received my oysters a few minutes before my wife and child received their food. I was the only one with food at the table for 2 minutes. Should this have weighed heavier? Maybe, but the rest of the experience actually made me forget all about the delayed delivery. They won me back and they won me back big to the point that I wrote a little "thank you" note on my credit card receipt.
