FEATURED RECIPE - GUINNESS BROWNIES - DELISH.COM

(PHOTO PROVIDED VIA DELISH.COM)

Brownies are one of my favorite desserts out there. It's rare that I find one that I don't like. Mixing alcohol and desserts is something that I have been seeing more and more of recently and I have to say that they all sound pretty damn good. Here is a great recipe from DELISH.COM that marries the brownie with Guiness Beer. Not only does this combination sound amazing, but the recipe is easy to execute. Head over to DELISH.COM to read more about this fantastic recipe.

TOTAL TIME: 45 minutes

PREP: 10 minutes

BAKE: 35 minutes

LEVEL: EASY

SERVES: 8

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE BROWNIES

  • 1 box brownie mix

  • 1/4 c. Guinness

  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil

  • 1 egg

FOR THE GANACHE

  • 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

  • 1/2 c. heavy cream

  • 1/2 c. Guinness

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8” square baking pan. Whisk together the brownie ingredients, then spread into the prepared pan.

  2. Bake according to the package directions on your mix, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, 35 minutes. Let cool completely in the pan.

  3. Meanwhile, make the ganache: Place the chocolate chips in a medium, heat-proof bowl.

  4. In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the heavy cream and Guinness just to a boil. When bubbles begin to break the surface around the edges of the pan, turn off the heat.

  5. Pour the hot cream over chocolate chips. Let sit for 15 seconds, then whisk constantly until the sauce is smooth.

  6. Once the brownies are cool, pour the ganache over and spread evenly.

  7. Refrigerate brownies until the ganache has set, about 15 minutes. Slice into squares and serve.
