So I have something a little embarrassing to admit. I never saw a single John Wick movie until last night and tonight. Sure I'm an action guy. Sure I dig a good Keanu Reeves movie. But for some reason that I still cannot fathom I had not seen these movies. My wife even found it impossible as I explained it to her. Either way, I finally got to see both John Wick and John Wick Chapter 2 over the past few days.
The story is your basic former bad guy (known as The Boogeyman to all in his field of assassins) leaves the life to pursue love and happiness until other bad guys come and kill his dog (that was left for him by his late wife) and steal his car while leaving him for dead. BIG MISTAKE NEW BAD DUDES!!!! This brings John Wick out of retirement as we see him cause much satisfying mayhem and learn more about just who in the hell he is.
This is my new favorite franchise. It was funny when it wanted to be funny. It was sad when it wanted to be sad. And damn it was BAD ASS when it wanted to be BAD ASS. I give these movies 4 out of 5 stars just for the awesome action and BAD ASSERY from Keanu Reeves. Besides the cast was an awesome combination of who's who from all of the TV and movies that I have loved dearly all of my life. KEEP THIS MOVIES COMING!
...Now I just have to see John Wick 3.
