While traveling during our wonderful weekend of wine and spirit tasting, we decided to make a delightful detour for breakfast. The memories of our time spent sampling exquisite wines and unique spirits were still fresh in our minds, each sip revealing a new layer of flavor and complexity that had captivated our senses. As we reminisced about the rich, velvety reds and the crisp, refreshing whites, the prospect of a hearty breakfast began to tantalize our taste buds, offering the perfect way to conclude our mini getaway on a high note.
I started with the Banana and Bacon Pancakes, an enticing dish that brilliantly combined sweet and savory elements, featuring perfectly sliced bananas, crispy crumbled bacon, a luscious peanut butter sauce, and a delightful dollop of chocolate whipped cream. The bananas were incredibly sweet, providing a burst of fruity flavor that complemented the salty crunch of the bacon. The pancakes themselves were super fluffy, almost cloud-like in texture, making them a joy to savor with each bite. The combination of the creamy peanut butter sauce drizzled generously over the pancakes and the rich chocolate whipped cream on top created a harmonious balance of flavors that rounded out the dish beautifully, elevating it to a level of indulgence that was simply irresistible.
I also could not resist ordering a side of corned beef hash, a classic breakfast favorite that often varies in quality at different establishments. I will go on record by saying that this was, without a doubt, the best corned beef hash that I had ever had the pleasure of tasting. As you can see in the photo above, there is a generous portion of corned beef, with just the right amount of potato hash mixed in, which is a refreshing change from the typical ratios found elsewhere. The corned beef was expertly cooked, with a crispy exterior that provided a satisfying crunch, while still being juicy and bursting with flavor on the inside. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural taste of the meat without overpowering it. This corned beef hash was so delicious that I would go back just to indulge in this dish again.
My wife opted for the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, which featured a delightful mixture of brown sugar cinnamon and a sweet cream cheese swirl that she absolutely loved. The pancakes were fluffy and had the comforting flavor profile reminiscent of a classic cinnamon roll, making them a decadent choice for breakfast. The cream cheese swirl added a rich, tangy sweetness that perfectly complemented the warm spices, creating a delightful experience with every forkful.
We marked Buttermilk's as a place that we needed to find a reason to return to, which can be quite a trek while living in New Jersey. However, this eatery is more than enough of a reason to make that journey happen as soon as we can. Plus our girls would love to eat here and we would not dare deny them the chance. The unique and delicious offerings, combined with the inviting atmosphere and friendly service, make Buttermilk's a standout destination for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, already dreaming of our next visit to savor those incredible pancakes and the unforgettable corned beef hash once again.
